AIBN progress review guidelines

Your second progress review will involve submission of your candidature and project documents, a closed 30-minute meeting with the progress review panel. Advisory team attendance is optional or may be requested by the panel after reading the project documents.  You are required to give a scientific presentation between your first and second review which can be one of the following:

1. A domestic or international conference presentation.
2. AIBN seminar series presentation.
3. An open 30 minute oral presentation (including questions) to your research group or progress review panel. If giving a seminar to your group, your principal advisor will need to fill in the Oral Presentation report form (DOCX, 76.4 KB).

The project documents should include the following:

1. A draft/accepted manuscript or a draft results chapter. If the manuscript is not as first author, details of the candidate's significant contribution should be outlined.
2. A thesis outline (e.g. tentative chapter titles) and a plan for future work.

Written feedback will be provided by your reviewers, which can either be before or after the review meeting. Your chair will also prepare a written report detailing the recommendations of the Progress Review Panel to the Dean, UQ Graduate School.

The project documents should include the following:

1. A draft of your thesis chapters to date including an estimate of percent completion for each chapter in terms of experimental, analysis and writing.
2. A plan for future experimental, analysis and writing.
