How to organise a Progress Review

The following guidelines outline the management and conduct of HDR Progress Reviews in the School of Chemical Engineering. These guidelines should be used in combination with the Higher Degree by Research Candidature Policy and the Higher Degree by Research Candidature Procedure.   • Confirmation report, approx. 50 pages.
  • iThenticate report.
  • Short 5-10 page document outlining achievements and advancements.

  • Thesis outline and completed works.

Review Meeting

60-90 minutes.

Oral Presentation

Open Seminar (approx 40 mins including audience questions).

Panel review including Q&A and discussion (approx 40 mins.)

Short closed room presentation to Panel (approx. 20 mins) followed by Q&A and Discussion of work completed (approx. 40-60 mins).

Short closed room discussion with Panel of work completed and work still to be completed.

Note: Documents should be submitted by the census date of the research quarter in which your review is due.

Panel Composition

Your Progress Review Panel (PRP) in the School of Chemical Engineering will consist of a chair, one or more reviewers, and your supervisors.
