4. How to apply for an OS-HELP loan

Use the online form to apply for an OS-HELP loan.

Log in to Student Hub to access the OS-HELP application form. Read the information below about supporting documentation before applying.

Supporting documentation

You may need to attach supporting documentation with the form. Supporting documents must be:

  • Written on official letterhead or sent from an official email. Emails must be addressed to your UQ student account and must be from an official account within the host university or host organisation (i.e. not from Gmail etc.)
  • Uploaded in JPEG or PDF format. Scan, take a photo or take a screenshot of the original document. Emails that have been cut and pasted into a Word document are not accepted.

As standard, supporting documents must state:

  • Your full name and UQ student number
  • Details about the activity you are undertaking (e.g. vacation work)
  • Dates you will be undertaking the activity overseas
  • Details about the host organisation or university, including name, address and contact details, and
  • The full name and position of the person sending the correspondence.

The exact documentation you need to include depends on the type of overseas study you are undertaking:
