FEE-HELP
1. Overview
FEE-HELP is a loan scheme the Australian Government offers to help you pay all or part of the fees for a course not subsidised by the government.
This page explains how to:
- apply for a FEE-HELP loan
- know or estimate the fees you are liable to pay
- make an upfront payment
- view your invoices and other important information.
See the Study Assist website for more information on FEE-HELP loans, including eligibility criteria.
Due dates
You need to be aware of 2 critical dates - the fee due date and the Census Date.
Fee due date
You must pay your fees by the due date:
- For standard semesters, research quarters and teaching periods, view fee due dates in the Academic Calendar.
- For programs and courses with unique dates – such as medical or intensive programs – go to 'Enrolments' on mySI-net.
Census Date
We finalise all enrolment details and fee payments on the Census Date.
By the Census Date, you must have:
- completed your FEE-HELP loan application by the Census Date if you are applying for a loan
- withdrawn from any courses by the Census Date to avoid financial penalties.
To find your Census Date:
- For standard semesters, research quarters and teaching periods, view Census Date in the Academic Calendar.
- For programs and courses with unique dates - such as medical or intensive programs - go to 'Enrolments' on mySI-net.
Your enrolment will be cancelled unless you pay your fees or finalise your FEE-HELP loan application by the Census Date.
