5. Due dates

For student financial matters, there are two important dates to be aware of:

  1. Due date for the payment of fees. All upfront fees, including upfront student contributions, have to be paid by this date.
  2. Census Date. This is the last date you can apply for a HECS-HELP loan, and the last date you can withdraw from courses without incurring any financial penalties. All student contributions, fees and enrolment details are finalised on this date.

These dates are listed on the Academic Calendar – but only for standard semesters and trimesters.

Some programs and courses (e.g. medical programs, intensive programs) have unique dates. These are displayed on your student home page in mySI-net.

A $100 late penalty is applied to unpaid fees after the fees due date.

If all your fees aren't paid – or if your HECS-HELP loan application isn't finalised – by Census Date, your enrolment will be cancelled and you will lose your Commonwealth Supported Place for the enrolment period.
