Prepare to leave UQ
As you approach the end of your HDR program, here's what you'll need to do to prepare to leave UQ.
Use the following information as a guide to supplement your institute or school's off-boarding process.
7. Update file storage, email and mySI-net
To ensure your files are still accessible:
- Confirm with your Principal Advisor where data-set, ethics approval, and participants’ consent forms linked to your project are stored, according to the Research Data Management Policy. The ideal location may be the granting body's project storage software or the Research Data Manager (RDM).
- Record the file path where you have stored data, ethics approval, participant consent forms, or other research-related data.
- Remove all personal files from the hard drive of your computer or UQ servers.
- Your personal staff email account will be closed at the end of your program.
- Your student mailbox will be forwarded to your personal email address registered with my.UQ.
- When you graduate be mindful that you will no longer have access to OneDrive or other Microsoft 365 apps through UQ. This includes data collected through Microsoft Forms. Backup any files you wish to keep.
Please note:
- Once your M365 account is removed, any files you have shared will become inaccessible as the links will no longer work.
- Consider moving any important files saved in your OneDrive to a Teams channel to ensure key people still retain access after you leave.
To ensure your mySI-net student information is updated:
- Log in to mySI-net (student login required) and check your graduating date and mailing address. Update these if required.
