Prepare to leave UQ

As you approach the end of your HDR program, here's what you'll need to do to prepare to leave UQ.

Use the following information as a guide to supplement your institute or school's off-boarding process.

  1. Create a Unique Student Identifier (USI)
  2. Explore support
  3. Advise UQ staff of your departure date
  4. Check fees and fines
  5. Prepare to finalise your research
  1. Update Researcher IDs and ORCID
  2. Update file storage, email and mySI-net
  3. Return equipment and clean workspaces
  4. Prepare for graduation

3. Advise UQ staff of your departure date

Make sure you advise the following staff of your intended departure date:

  • Principal Advisor
  • Director of Higher Degree Research
  • HDR Liasion Officer.

If you've been working in a lab, you should also talk to the Senior Scientific Officer or Laboratory Manager to ensure you finalise any outstanding tasks within the lab (e.g. storing, cataloguing, or disposing of samples).
