JumpStart is a free one-day program at St Lucia or Gatton that helps new students transition smoothly to university life through practical guidance and academic preparation.
The program combines practical guidance with academic preparation, including sessions on navigating UQ systems, study strategies, and campus resources. You will also have opportunities to connect with peers, meet staff, and learn about key support services to set yourself up for success.
JumpStart is recommended for:
- All new international undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Domestic undergraduate and postgraduate students returning to study after a break
- Students who are unable to attend academic workshops during O-Week
The program will assist you to:
- Become familiar with UQ life and navigate the campus
- Understand academic expectations and prepare for university study
- Develop strategies for planning, managing your time, and completing assignments effectively
- Navigate UQ systems and access key services and support
- Meet other students and build connections within the UQ community
- Connect with experienced students and expand your support network
