JumpStart is a free one-day program at St Lucia or Gatton that helps new students transition smoothly to university life through practical guidance and academic preparation.
The program combines practical guidance with academic preparation, including sessions on navigating UQ systems, study strategies, and campus resources. You will also have opportunities to connect with peers, meet staff, and learn about key support services to set yourself up for success.
JumpStart is recommended for:
- all new international postgraduate students
- domestic postgraduate students returning to study after a break
- postgraduate students who cannot attend academic workshops during O-Week
The program will assist you to:
- Understand academic expectations
- Develop strategies for planning and completing assignments effectively
- Apply practical time management techniques
- Navigate UQ systems and access key support services
- Build connections with peers and the UQ community
