July ceremonies
You are required to have a USI to graduate and attend your ceremony. See USI requirements.
2. Eligibility to graduate
You are required to complete several tasks in your final semester to ensure your award can be conferred – whether or not you intend on attending a graduation ceremony.
You need to:
- update your graduation semester
- update your personal details
- provide your Unique Student Identifier (USI) or USI Exemption
- (for Higher Degree by Research students only) confirm your thesis title and abstract.
The last day for updating your personal details for the July conferral round is 2 July 2026.
Graduation ceremony invitations
Once you're identified as a potential graduand, you'll be invited to complete a Graduation Information Check in mySI-net.
Your Graduation Information Check is where you can confirm your:
- Name
- Address
- Award details
These invitations will be sent to your student email on a rolling basis from 27 May 2026. Don’t worry if your friends have received an email but you haven’t. Your records may still be under review.
If you meet your graduation conditions, your award will be conferred in the name listed in your Graduation Information Check. If this name is incorrect, please submit a Change of Personal Details request by 2 July 2026 to avoid document re-issuing fees and delays. You can update the order in which your name appears by completing your Graduation Information Check.
If you do not complete your USI requirement, you will not have your award conferred and you will not be able to attend a graduation ceremony. The University of Queensland is not responsible for any inconvenience or costs that may be incurred in failing to complete your USI requirement.
For more information about providing your USI, please visit the USI website.
If you are expecting to graduate but haven’t received an email by 13 June 2026, contact your faculty or school.
If you're a 2025 graduate expecting to attend a July 2026 ceremony and have not received an email to your student email account by 13 June 2026, please contact Graduations at graduations@uq.edu.au.
