8. End your tenancy and move out
When you're ready to move out, you'll need to give appropriate notice – even if your tenancy agreement is ending.
Check the RTA website to learn more about ending your tenancy, including how much notice you'll need to give, how to end the agreement, and all the steps you need to know about leaving (vacating) the property.
Breaking a lease
If you or the property manager wants to end the tenancy agreement early and without a sufficient reason, this is called breaking the lease.
It's possible that you may have to pay compensation (e.g. to cover the loss of rent) for breaking a lease, so make sure you understand the facts before you decide to end your agreement early.
