Important exam dates
Students are expected to be available to sit their exams at the scheduled date, time, and campus of their course enrolment.
Exam timetables are published on my.UQ. See below for general information about exam block dates.
Central in-semester exams
In 2026, there have been changes to central in-semester exam sittings at St Lucia campus. In addition to Saturday exams, central in-semester exams are now also scheduled on Friday evenings and Sundays in Semester 1 and Semester 2. These changes will not impact students sitting exams at Gatton Campus.
Central exams are organised by the UQ Examinations Team. For some courses, schools will also organise and deliver exams internally. Your school will provide details about these school-based exams either by email or on your course Learn.UQ site. Your course profile will usually specify whether your exam is central or school-based.
Travel and safety
Students, staff and visitors must pay to park at St Lucia Campus from Monday to Friday between 7am and 9pm. Parking is free outside these hours and on weekends.
The after-hours Friday safety bus will be extended to cover the Saturday and Sunday evenings of the exams running the same timetable. The safety buses will be operational throughout the evening exam sessions to assist students, along with additional security officers working on campus.
You can also contact Security and request an escort to your car or public transport.
While on campus, you can access a library study space 24/7.
Help and advice
If you committed to work on Friday evening and/or Sunday, before receiving the exam timetable, you may apply for a deferred exam with supporting documentation.
If your religion dictates that one of the scheduled exam days is a day of religious observance, you can apply for alternative exam arrangements surrounding religious observance.
If you believe that you have extenuating circumstances that fall outside the deferred exam allowances, please contact your school.
