GraphPad Prism

GraphPad Prism is biostatistics and scientific graphing software for Microsoft Windows and macOS.

Due to increasing prices, only staff and Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students will be eligible for a named user GraphPad Prism licence in 2026.

Free student licences are available from GraphPad for coursework students.

Staff and HDR students who responded to the November 2025 survey will automatically receive a licence. Other researchers should submit an IT request.

Accessing GraphPad Prism

If you have been assigned a licence, you will receive an email from GraphPad with instructions on how to download the software and log in.

If you believe you are eligible for a licence, please submit an IT request with a short description of the type of research you are working on.

Users with a named user licence may install the software on up to two computers. One of these can be a home computer, if required.

ITS will no longer centrally fund GraphPad licences for coursework students from Semester 1, 2026.

Teaching staff are encouraged to consider the following options for courses that currently use GraphPad Prism:

Course co-ordinators can request free GraphPad Prism student licences from GraphPad for their course. These can only be used by students. Teaching staff who will be teaching GraphPad should submit an IT request for a GraphPad licence.
Switch to alternative software for statistical analysis and graphing, such as SPSS, Stata, JMP, R, JASP or LabPlot.

GraphPad Prism is available at UQ for for research purposes.

The named user licences have been renewed until 14 February 2027.
