Important Information

Before you arrive take some time to complete a few important steps to make sure you are prepared to commence your studies.

Have you set up your Student Email account?
UQ communicates with you via your UQ student email address. It is very important that you set this up before you arrive so you don't miss important information about orientation, events and workshops that help you during your time at UQ.

Complete the UQ Essentials Module
Before you arrive make sure you complete the UQ Essentials Module, a one hour interactive online course that will prepare you for study and life in Brisbane or online. (Strongly recommended for all new students) . When you open the link below, click on the login button on the right.

Your first few weeks at UQ

To ensure you get the most out of Orientation and the first few weeks of university life, make sure you follow the below steps to help you set up, make friends, attend key sessions and know where to find support.

A few weeks before you come to campus, make sure you complete the Starting at UQ website. This will give you step by step instructions on how to prepare before you arrive and what you will need to do when you get here.
Dive into our two welcoming weeks - Orientation Week and Connect Week. Find out when you faculty and compulsory sessions are, what events are on, where to get support and what programs are available for you online and on-campus.
Join our Get Set Mentoring program and instantly connect with others! This program is student led with lots of new students like you joining! Get advice and help from your mentor and go to events and catch-ups together

Your life at UQ

You life at UQ is an exciting one full of events, activities, learning opportunities, friendships and much more! There are plenty of ways you can connect into the community and get amazing experiences during your time here!

While at UQ make sure you

Accessibility and Welfare Advisers can assist you with many of the situations you may be facing as a student studying in Brisbane or online. They provide a professional, confidential service to both international and domestic students
