Leximancer is a text and content analysis and mining tool for Microsoft Windows and macOS. You can use Leximancer to crawl through text documents and pull out and display the main concepts, themes and relationships in the content.

Accessing Leximancer

Leximancer is available free-of-charge on UQ-owned computers for UQ staff and students.

You can use the Microsoft Software Center or Mac Self Service to install the application on ITS-managed UQ computers. Contact your local IT support team or submit an IT request to install Leximancer on other UQ-owned computers.

Home use

  • Staff: you can use Leximancer on your personal computer for UQ work purposes.
  • Students: you can use Leximancer on your personal computer for study purposes.

Conditions of use

Leximancer can be used at UQ for teaching and non-commercial research purposes.

Leximancer is for use by current staff, students and affiliates (at least 51% owned by UQ) using a UQ-owned computer in a UQ facility. UQ must record all users of this software.

UQ pays a centrally funded maintenance fee to Leximancer in March every year. Information about UQ’s arrangement with Leximancer for the use of their software is confidential and should not be discussed externally.
