UQ Digital Workspace (UQDW) is a virtual desktop environment that gives eligible UQ students and staff access to selected software applications without needing to install the software on their own device.

Access to UQ Digital Workspace is granted by course code at the start of each semester. Students enrolled in an eligible course can use UQ Digital Workspace to access selected software applications required for that course.

To check if you have access to UQ Digital Workspace, visit the UQ Digital Workspace portal and log in with your UQ username and password. Any virtual desktops or software applications available to you will be listed under the Apps section. To use a virtual desktop or software application, follow the instructions for your device's operating system within the How to use UQ Digital Workspace section of this guide.

See which software applications are available to each virtual desktop. Please note that you may still need to be granted access to specific software applications even if you already have access to the required virtual desktop.

If you cannot see the virtual desktop or software application you need, you can submit a request to access existing software, or request that software be added to UQ Digital Workspace:

UQ Digital Workspace does not provide remote access to your physical work computer. Staff who need to connect to their UQ computer should visit get remote access to my work computer for further information.

Follow the instructions below for your device's operating system, or use the web browser option if you cannot install the Omnissa Horizon Client on your device.

These instructions are for eligible UQ students and academic staff who need to access software through UQ Digital Workspace. If you cannot see the software you need after logging in, you may not have access to that software.

If you are unable to follow these instructions, please submit an IT request for assistance.

Save your work before you log off!
UQ Digital Workspace is a temporary virtual environment. Files created during your session are deleted when you log off. Save your work to your network drive, cloud storage, or your device's local storage using the Omnissa Horizon Client's drive sharing feature.
