We know UQ is big place to navigate, so let us help you get off to a great start.
In this required information session, you'll be welcomed to the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Behavioural Sciences exhibition.
Who should attend
This session is required for all students joining the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Behavioural Sciences.
What's involved
As part of this orientation session, you will:
Interactive Expo: Discover all HMBS disciplines, student associations, student support services, and other opportunities to get involved.
International Student Zone: Hosted by Allianz, experience a "Taste of Australia" and pick up a free gift bag!
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies Unit stall: Learn about cultural support available at UQ and design your own tote bag!
Wildlife Experience: Learn about some of Australia's native animals with D’Aguilar Wildlife.
Mature-Aged Student Meet-Up: Connect with peers and share experiences with an intimate social mixer for mature-aged students from 12:30-1:15pm.
Low Sensory Chill-Out Room: Enjoy some mindfulness activities and art therapy in our quiet space for those who need a break.
Food & Fun - Enjoy delicious treats from OMG Donuts, Bagel Boys, FigJam & Co. and Pizza Caffe while soaking up the festival atmosphere.

About Health, Medicine and Behavioural Sciences orientation
Orientation is a program of activities designed to introduce you to live and study at UQ.
To ensure you have the information and tools you need to succeed at UQ, you should attend:
- a faculty orientation session
- all program (degree) information sessions that are relevant to your studies
- a placements information session if you'll need to complete placements as part of your program.
