Who should attend 

This program is required for all new students commencing in a postgraduate degree in public health in Sem 1, 2026, including: 
•    Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Master of Public Health 
•    Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Master of Environmental Health 
•    Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Master of Epidemiology 
•    Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Master of Biostatistics 

What's involved

To help you prepare for the path ahead, we have organised an informative program orientation session.
As part of this session, you will:
•    Learn the ins-and-outs of your degree
•    Discover support services available to you
•    Hear the experiences of past and current students
•    Meet our School of Public Health Student Association
•    Meet your teachers and cohort

The session will finish with a guided Herston campus tour, a complimentary lunch, and the ‘Welcome to Herston’ event, designed to connect you with your peers and key student support services.

About Health, Medicine and Behavioural Sciences orientation

Orientation is a program of activities designed to introduce you to live and study at UQ.

To ensure you have the information and tools you need to succeed at UQ, you should attend:

  • a faculty orientation session
  • all program (degree) information sessions that are relevant to your studies
  • a placements information session if you'll need to complete placements as part of your program.
