In this required information session, you'll be welcomed to the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Behavioural Sciences, and gather important information about studying at UQ. 

Who should attend

This session is required for all students joining the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Behavioural Sciences, including: 

  1. Commencing undergraduate and high-school leavers; 
  2. Students who have already studied at UQ, and are commencing a postgraduate program; 
  3. Students who: 
  • Have had a long break (more than 2 years) between formal study 
  • In different life stages, or have additional commitments to study, such as employment, or parenting/caring duties, or 
  • Are already qualified in one field but are pursuing a career change 

What's involved

As part of this orientation session, you will: 

  • Be welcomed by the HMBS Associate Dean (Academic)
  • Participate in interactive activities to facilitate meeting your peers 
  • Participate in a live Q&A with current students 
  • Gain tips and tricks for academic success from a UQ academic skills advisor 
  • Get your faculty orientation passport

About Health, Medicine and Behavioural Sciences orientation

Orientation is a program of activities designed to introduce you to live and study at UQ.

To ensure you have the information and tools you need to succeed at UQ, you should attend:

  • a faculty orientation session
  • all program (degree) information sessions that are relevant to your studies
  • a placements information session if you'll need to complete placements as part of your program.
