The UQ Multi-Faith Chaplaincy is an inclusive space to share faith, traditions and spiritual practices with respect for each person’s spiritual journey and chosen faith.

All students, staff and the wider UQ community are welcome. We have volunteer Chaplains and Faith Leaders who provide pastoral care, support, spiritual conversations, learning and events for many faiths. This includes:

  • Buddhist (Pureland)
  • Evangelical
  • Hindu
  • Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
  • Islam
  • Roman Catholic
  • Korean Methodist
  • Christianity 

Our services and facilities

The Multi-Faith Chaplaincy is open daily and offers opportunities for:

  • prayer, meditation and worship
  • individual spiritual guidance and direction
  • informal gatherings
  • reading or discussion groups.

The Multi-Faith Chaplaincy is located on the St Lucia campus in Building 38. Facilities include:

  • Room 102: prayer space that will accommodate 300 people (Audio-visual equipment available)
  • Room 105: meditation room
  • Room 202: boardroom meeting room (Audio-visual equipment available)
  • Room 209: large meeting room
  • Room 210: non-denominational chapel
  • Rooms 211, 212, 214, 215 and 216: The Faith Lounge (welcoming and informal spaces, including a kitchenette)
  • Ablution Facilities 

Room bookings

The Multi-Faith Chaplaincy is a welcoming space for students, staff and community to connect, reflect, and engage in faith-based activities.  

Room bookings are available exclusively to approved faith groups, ensuring the space remains dedicated to spiritual and religious gatherings such as prayer, discussion, and reflection.
