Mater Hospital pre-placement requirements

What is required if I have a placement at a Mater facility?

All students placed in a Mater facility, regardless of discipline, will need to complete the following forms and upload evidence of completion to InPlace before placement commencement:

Mater Confidentiality Undertaking

Updated pre-placement requirements as of March 2024:

All students, education provider staff, education provider liaison officers, supervisors and student facilitators will complete the following prior to commencing the placement:

Receive training in patient handling by an appropriately qualified assessor and be deemed competent.
Hold a National Police Check Certificate
Hold a current CPR Certificate.
Meet the following vaccination requirements:
1. Hepatitis B
2. Varicella (Chicken Pox)
3. MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella)
4. Pertussis

You will not be able to commence your placement until all items are completed.

What do I need to do?

Step 1

Familiarise yourself with the Mater Student Placement Handbook. This can also be found on the Mater Education website.

Step 2

Complete the Mater Student Placement Checklist (the final page of the handbook) to declare that you have completed and understood the placement requirements.

If you are still undergoing your immunisations, please tick the vaccinations you have received. Please note Influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations are recommended only.

Step 3

Read through and complete the Mater Confidentiality Undertaking form (PDF, 239 KB) to declare you acknowledge and agree to maintain confidentiality during your placement.

Please print your name and home address at the top of the form. Sign and date the bottom of page 2. The witness can be anyone except a family member.

Step 4

Upload your completed Mater Student Placement Checklist and Mater Undertaking forms to InPlace.

Step 5

Upload your National Police Check Certificate and CPR certificate to InPlace.
