You will work in teams with peer Business, Economics and Law Faculty students and an industry partner on a consultancy project that we organise for you.

Projects

Work-integrated Learning (WIL) Advisors source projects designed to apply your knowledge in a practical setting and boost your employability. We aim to accommodate preferences when allocating students to projects.

Past partners include:

  • Cancer Council Queensland
  • Netball Queensland
  • Institute for Urban Indigenous Health
  • Suncorp
  • Hilton Hotels
  • So Brave, an Australian charity for young women with breast cancer.

Timing and location

  • Projects run for the whole semester.
  • Meet weekly with your team and receive support from a mentor assigned to your group. 
  • Your team will not be located at the organisation, but will have regular meetings with your industry partner.

How to apply

You need to complete an application form and once your eligibility is confirmed, you can then enrol in your chosen course. Allow at least 4 weeks to complete the application process.

  1. Submit the WIL Application Form, together with your resume, to find out if you're eligible. See when to apply below.
  2. We'll aim to confirm your eligibility by email within 2 weeks of submission.
  3. We’ll share project details with you a few weeks before the semester starts. Keep an eye on your emails, review the options and let us know your preferences.
  4. Enrol in the course before the start of the semester.

When to apply

Semester 2: 27 July – 30 October 2026
