HDR Funding | Advisors are expected to ensure that candidate research is not unreasonably expensive and to authorise funds for research expenses. The School of Psychology currently provides support by way of HDR Research Support Funds, which is applied on an annual basis (per calendar year) and can be accessed by candidates bi-annually (in April and October each year). Funding is based on the status of enrolment and the length of candidature. HDR Research Support Funds is a School of Psychology-funded scheme and is subject to change at any time without notice. The 2024 HDR Research Support Funds allocation is: - Full-time^ PhD candidate: Maximum* $750 per annum for the first 3 years of their candidature.
- Full-time^ MPhil candidate: Maximum* $750 per annum for the first 2 years of their candidature.
^This amount is not pro-rated for part-time candidates, instead part-time candidates can elect to access the full $750 across 3 of any of the 8 years for PhD, or 2 of any of the 4 years for an MPhil. Part-time candidates should ensure that they access these funds when it is most appropriate. *The actual amount will depend on the proportion of each candidate’s enrolment in the School of Psychology. |
Specialised HDR Training | In 2024 the School has allocated $32,000 of funding for the Statistical and Methodology Training Support Scholarship, which will support candidates to attend statistical and methodological training courses in 2024 from UQ or recognised external providers that meet their individual needs. These funds will be split across two rounds, with the HLO calling for applications bi-annually. Candidates will need to complete an application form and expense reimbursement form and submit to the HLO via email hdr.psychology@enquire.uq.edu.au by the specific closing date in order to be considered for the scholarship |
