Introduction
Welcome session and academic advising for new-to-UQ international psychology students
Who should attend
This is a required session designed for all new international students in the Bachelor of Psychology Science (Honours) or studies in Psychology in the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, and dual programs (e.g., BA/BSc), commencing in Sem 2, 2025.
What's involved
This event will provide you with the opportunity to:
- Participate in fun “getting to know you” activities
- Participate in a Best Study Practices workshop, run by the school’s Academic Integrity Officer
- Meet staff who can assist with study plans, credit applications or answer any questions you may have about studying at UQ or living in Brisbane
- Win some giveaways

Orientation is a program of social and academic activities designed to introduce you to live and study at UQ.
Our Health, Medicine and Behavioural Sciences orientation events give you a great opportunity to meet students from across the faculty and understand how we can support you throughout your journey.
To ensure you have the information and tools you need to succeed at UQ, you should attend:
- a faculty orientation session
- any program-information sessions that are relevant to your studies
- any social events that interest you
- a placements information session if you'll need to complete placements as part of your program.
