Sexual and reproductive health

Talking about sex doesn’t need to be awkward. Here’s what you need to know, and resources to help.

Knowledge about sex is important for creating healthy relationships and understanding sexual and reproductive health.

It helps you:

  • make informed choices about your sex life including whether or not you want to be sexually active, when, with who and what type of experiences you want to have
  • explore pleasurable, consensual and safe sex
  • develop healthy sexual relationships and understand your partner (including how to listen to and respect them)
  • understand the risks and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
