Why study French?

The French language is one of the most widely spoken and fastest growing languages in the world today with 76 million native speakers and 235 million who use it daily. In the French major you will reach the Â'Independent UserÂ' (B1) level on the Common European Framework of Reference. You will be able to communicate across a range of situations when the topic is familiar to you, such as work, studies or social life, and have detailed knowledge of French-speaking cultures. No previous knowledge of French is required.
