Course description

This practicum course provides the opportunity to develop clinical skills in treatment settings. The emphasis of the fourth placement is developing specialist treatment skills with an emphasis on dealing with treatment resistance and complex presentations: managing defences, lack of engagement and low motivation for change, decompensation, suicidality, substance abuse and self-harm risks. Psychotherapy Field of Study requirements will be met by this course.
