Assessment methods

A series of five assignments and two projects involving composition of diverse vocal and instrumental works that demonstrate analytical and critical comprehension of the principles of Renaissance and Baroque polyphonic genres. Each assignment requires mastery of specific idioms and compositional procedures in small-scale polyphonic forms, while the projects demonstrate mastery of large-scale compositional planning in Baroque two part inventions and three-part fugues
