Course description

JAPN3030 is for students in intermediate level who have completed JAPN2022 or high school Japanese studies. Students can take this course before, concurrently, or after the recommended companion course JAPN3010. Students who have completed JAPN31** coded and higher level courses are not eligible to enrol in this course. The course builds on students' knowledge and ability to use fundamental structures in Japanese and assists them in increasing competencies in using Japanese for functional communication. It covers the language needed to describe experiences and events and future plans and to give reasons and explanations. Students learned pragmatic skills and cultural knowledge associated with grammatical structures.
