Course description
'Principles of Primary Care Medicine 2' provides students with knowledge of the essentials of disease prevention, diagnosis and management. Using an organ-system approach, students will learn, through web-based material, the pathophysiology of the disease processes of the most common presentations in general practice, developing knowledge and clinical problem-solving skills in all areas of primary care. Appropriate ordering and interpretation of laboratory values, radiology studies, and pharmacologicical therapies, including drug choice, idenitification of risk for adverse drug reactions, and medication administration and monitoring will be covered. Patient education and health promotion strategies will be emphasised.
