Course description
This course involves 400-480 hours of industry experience, through a work integrated learning placement in a production or service enterprise. It enables students to apply to that industry their theoretical knowledge gained and research skills developed earlier in their Master of Food Science and Technology program. It is anticipated that students will also acquire a greater understanding of industry operations and requirements which will enhance their career opportunities.
Placements for this course are managed through UQ's placement management system, InPlace. For planning purposes, you must register your intentions on InPlace to advise us which semester you would like to enrol in this course. All eligible students will then apply for advertised placement opportunities in a competitive selection process.
To access the advertised placement opportunities, you must register your intentions on InPlace by the following deadlines: 31 March to enrol in semester 2 of the same year; 31 August to enrol in semester 1 of the following year. Failure to register by these deadlines may result in missing out on the placement application process, and subsequently not being eligible to enrol in this course.
You can access InPlace via your My.UQ dashboard, or through the My.UQ Manage My Program page. Click `Staff and Student' on the homepage and log in using your student login details (same as My.UQ login).
