Course description

An intensive course delivered through lectures and field activity (Heron Island, GBR) covering the main ecological principles of relevance to marine conservation including marine landscape interpretation, dispersal, development and population connectivity, regulating processes, key biota, resource use, pollution and the diverse challenges of marine conservation in Australasia. Develops skills in the conduct of marine resource inventories, risk assessment and practical strategies for addressing conservation needs arising from human exploitation and climate change.
