Course description
This course introduces students to the fundamental aspects relating to the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) and digital data in modern healthcare practices. Over 4 modules, students will learn about the key concepts relating to digital health and clinical informatics, technical foundations and architectures, clinical workflows and a variety of health information systems. Students will learn how these innovations have impacted on modern healthcare systems to provide effective multidisciplinary care services. Examples from both developed and developing countries will be examined. Finally, students will learn about the cost and economic aspects of the implementation and clinical utility of digital health in health care services.
