Course description
This course guides students through the preparation of a comprehensive design report as the culmination of an architectural design project. The report covers design precedents, processes and outcomes; compliance with the client brief, local authority planning and building codes; environmentally sustainable design strategies; and an understanding of care for Country. Architectural project management is also addressed including team structure, resourcing, design and construction costs and programming, and the selection of a procurement process. ARCH7044 will be offered for the first time in semester 1 2024. If students have completed either ARCH7031 or ARCH7041, they should aim to enrol in and complete the remaining course in 2023 (Semester 1 2023 for ARCH7031 and Semester 2 2023 for ARCH7041). Students who have not yet enrolled in either ARCH7031 or ARCH7041, should complete the new courses (ARCH7044 in Sem 1 2024 and ARCH7034 in Sem 2 2024).
