Course description

This course enables students to apply their theoretical knowledge, research and other skills in an agribusiness related organisation for a minimum of 6 weeks standard full-time work and acquire greater understanding of business operations, develop professional skills and carry out applied research. It is expected that in turn the student will provide a valuable contribution to the host organisation. During the period of professional experience, the student will be subject to the conditions of employment laid down by the company and in accordance with company policy and regulations. A member of University staff is appointed as a supervisor for each student and each employer is required to appoint a supervisor for the student. The academic supervisor will meet with the student at least twice during the placement period to discuss progress with the employer and the student. *Course Coordinator approval is required to enrol in this course.
