Course description

This course deals with social and economic aspects of agricultural development in Asia, with particular reference to the country visited for AGRC3054 Tropical Agriculture. The course focuses on understanding smallholder farm systems and resource use, processes of technical and institutional change in agriculture, the role of agriculture in poverty reduction, food security, and economic development, and strategies for promoting agricultural and rural development in a globalising world.
