Taking control of your online safety
Technology improves our lives but can also be misused to cause harm.
This presentation explores the growing issue of technology-facilitated abuse (TFA) in the context of domestic violence.
Drawing from real-life examples and frontline experience, we will examine how widely used features are weaponised to inflict harm, including:
- Apple’s 'Find My' service
- robotic vacuum cleaners
- Google’s timeline tracking
- sharing technologies
The discussion will also highlight how modern security tools, such as multi-factor authentication (MFA), can be bypassed and manipulated in abusive relationships.
