The experience of death or the dying of a loved one can be devastating and difficult to talk about and sometimes overwhelming to process alone. Too often, our grief becomes private forcing our sorrow underground leaving us feeling an unspeakable emptiness. For many students, the pain of loss can be suffered in silence and isolation. Staying on top of responsibilities, coping with academic pressures and navigating relationships can get even harder. Without support, it’s hard to find ways to process the full extent of what is lost when death touches our lives.
“Grief and loss touch us all, arriving at our door in many ways. There is no ‘right way’ to grieve.”
We provide a safe and supportive space where grief can be honoured, held, and digested among other students who have similar experiences. We believe there is an undercurrent of collective wisdom and courage flowing through the experience of death that can emerge to helps us face the dark days. During our time together, we will explore the many threads that support our apprenticeship with loss.
