- 34 units for all BCCJ(Hons) Core Courses, and
- 14 units for BCCJ(Hons) Program Elective Courses, and
- 16 units from BCCJ(Hons) Honours Research Courses
Selected courses must include at most 24 units at level 1.

Additional Rules
1. Progression through program
This program has strict course prerequisites that impact on semester and year progression in your program as follows:
- You may only enrol in BCCJ(Hons) Honours Research Courses if you have completed 34 units for BCCJ(Hons) Core Courses and 14 units for BCCJ(Hons) Program Electives.
- You must commence BCCJ (Hons) Honours Research Courses in Semester 1 only.
2. Continuous enrolment
You must get approval to interrupt your studies. You may be required to demonstrate competency/ies before returning to study. If you do not demonstrate competence, you may have to undertake remediation such as repeating courses and/or other requirements. The maximum duration for an interruption is outlined in the Enrolment Procedure.
If you are undertaking the following components in the program, you must obtain prior approval to interrupt your studies:
- BCCJ (Hons) Honours Research Courses
- To enrol in BCCJ(Hons) Honours Research Courses following an interruption to studies, you must satisfy the associate dean (academic) and head of school that you have the competencies required for undertaking further study in the program.
3. Class of honours
Specific requirements apply to the awarding of honours in this program:
- The class of honours is calculated on the basis of the grade point average of the grades obtained by a you in the first attempt at all courses that contribute to the BCCJ(Hons) Honours Research Courses.

4. Exit awards
Award of the Bachelor of Criminal Justice
- If you withdraw from the program after completing 48 units for BCCJ(Hons) Core Courses and BCCJ(Hons) Program Elective Courses, you may apply and be awarded the Bachelor of Criminal Justice.
