Why study the Master of Advanced Economics?

The Master of Advanced Economics is our flagship masters program and offers high-level, cutting edge training in formal techniques of economic analysis and econometrics at a level similar to the first year in a US PhD program.

This program can be used

a) As a pathway to a PhD
b) As a standalone advanced Economics training credential appropriate for private and public sector professional economists.

The Master of Advanced Economics (24 units) includes a significant research thesis component and is designed for students who have previously completed a bachelor degree in economics or a cognate discipline and achieved outstanding results. It has been specifically designed to develop advanced technical skills in Economics.

Applications will be considered in two rounds during the year. However, commencement in the program is only in February each year. Application deadlines are 30 April and 30 September each year. The selection committee will review all completed applications in a competitive process after the deadlines; only those with complete documentation will be reviewed.
