- a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline.
You must have a grade point average (GPA) of at least 5.0 on a 7-point scale in your previous qualification.
1.5 Years 24 Units- a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (see below), or
- a graduate certificate* in a relevant discipline, or
- a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline, plus 2 years full-time equivalent relevant work experience (see below).
You must have a grade point average (GPA) of 5.0 on a 7-point scale in your previous qualification.
*Please note if a graduate certificate is used as the basis of entry into the program and you do not have a degree in a relevant discipline, you will not be eligible for credit towards the Masters program.

Why study the Master of Communication?
This program provides students with the knowledge and skills required to excel in the application of communication strategies and methods in a wide range of fields. The program is designed to develop understanding and skills of graduates and professionals to strategise and utilise effective communication in many fields of practice, such as health promotion, community development, business, public relations, policy and politics, intercultural relations and globalisation. Students develop a deep understanding of theory, knowledge of communication methods and dynamics, and practical and professional skills.

Master of Communication
Placement courses
Through a short-term or part-time placement within the semester students will work with a government, non-government, community or service organisation, a commercial firm or any other relevant agency, on a set of tasks that build on the knowledge and skills that they gained from the core courses in their field of study. Although some placement opportunities may be sourced by the Course Coordinator, students are responsible for organising and designing their own placement. The Course Coordinator will discuss the placement with each student at the start of semester.

What you can do with a Master of Communication
Careers
Graduates with a specialisation in Communication for Social Change find jobs as communication and facilitation specialists in government, non-government and community-based organisations and international research and development organisations, or they work as private consultants. Graduates with a specialisation in Strategic Communication are well equipped for diverse roles within public relations and marketing communication consultancies, not-for profit organisations and government bodies, including organisational communication, crisis management, government relations, social media management, and political campaigning roles.

To graduate with a Master of Communication a student must have successfully completed all requirements of the program as certified by the Executive Dean. This includes courses to be taken to complete the program and any other specific conditions of the program including admission, enrolment and progression requirements.
