Why study the Master of Conservation Biology?

The Master of Conservation Biology is an ideal program if you wish to expand your career prospects into a wide range of government, conservation and resource management agencies. It covers the integrative disciplines of conservation, ecology and biodiversity and focuses on the problems of restoring and maintaining viable populations of animal and plant species, and natural and managed ecosystems. It will equip you with a comprehensive theoretical understanding of conservation biology, as well as the required practical training and skills obtained through trips to some of Australia's most unique field sites.

The program consists of 12 courses each worth 2 units for a total of 24 units and can be completed in one year.

What you can study

The Master of Conservation Biology is a 24 unit program delivered in the regular University semesters as well as in shorter intensive teaching periods, to enable the program to be completed in one calendar year.

A standard enrolment for a full-time student will be to complete a 2 unit course, CONS7026, Conservation in context, just prior to the commencement of semester 2, enroll in 8 units during semester 2, enrol in 4 units in the summer semester and 10 units in 2 teaching periods in semester 1.

To complete the Master of Conservation Biology

To fulfil the requirements of the Master of Conservation Biology, a student must complete the requisite number of courses chosen from the course list in accordance with the Program Rules.

A student is required to obtain 24 units from Part A of the MConsBiol course list.
