Additional application information
It is recommended that students have at least 2 years work experience as a pharmacist.
There is a quota of 5 international students in the program, therefore applicants with a GPA below 5.5 are not able to be considered. Offers will be made to the highest ranking applicants only after the closing date.
For applicants who need to provide evidence of English proficiency, please note that this program requires a higher level of English language than the UQ minimum. IELTS overall 7; writing 6; speaking 7 is required.
TOEFL test results are not accepted.

Why study the Master of Clinical Pharmacy?
This program provides students with knowledge, skills and abilities to practice effectively as a clinical pharmacy practitioner involved in medicine use and pharmaceutical care; individualise, review and monitor a patient's medication regimen; demonstrate clear communication skills in clinical and non-clinical scenarios; critique and apply research methodologies relevant to clinical pharmacy practice; understand management issues in pharmacy and their relevance to clinical pharmacy practice; and describe social issues relating to medicine use.
Program places are limited due to the availability of suitable clinical placements in Brisbane.
Small group interactive teaching and discussion settings are the usual teaching method format. The courses involve some didactic lecturing and participation is encouraged. Some sessions of teaching occur on wards at teaching hospitals across Brisbane. These aim to illustrate practical use of drug therapy. We use a variety of practitioners and academics to teach the courses. Expert hospital and community pharmacists contribute significantly to the teaching together with medical and other healthcare professionals.
What you can study
In the masters program, students may undertake a clinical pharmacy research project and specialty clinical electives. A major program strength is the emphasis on clinical practice and evidence based medicine.

To complete the Master of Clinical Pharmacy
To fulfil the requirements of the Master of Clinical Pharmacy, a student must complete the requisite number of courses chosen from the course list in accordance with the Program Rules.
