Why study An Introduction to the Science of Learning in Practice?
'An introduction to the Science of Learning in Practice' is an exciting new suite of four stand-alone modules designed in response to a professional learning need identified by practitioners. The suite has been designed to support educators and learning leaders to build knowledge and skill in the science of learning, how to lead it in their professional learning communities, and how to apply and evaluate it in real-world, educational practice. With a strong emphasis on applying the science of learning into authentic practice, the four modules include: `A Multidisciplinary Lens on learning', 'A Deep Dive into the Science of Learning in Practice', 'Applying and Evaluating the Science of Learning in Practice', and 'Leading the Science of Learning in practice'. Students enrolled in this suite will engage with the latest findings from the multi-disciplinary field of the science of learning (drawing on research from education, psychology and neuroscience), developing an understanding of key principles of learning and how they can be effectively translated into their own unique learning contexts. This suite can provide credit for the equivalent masters course, and can be counted towards continuing professional development.
What you can study
In this suite students can study the four modules - `A Multidisciplinary Lens on learning¿, `A Deep Dive into the Science of Learning in Practice¿, `Applying and Evaluating the Science of Learning in Practice¿, and `Leading the Science of Learning in practice¿ - in any order at their own pace or as individual stand-alone modules. The four modules are designed to be complementary, and allow for students to identify and explore topics of particular interest as well as consider ways in which their learning can be applied practically into their own unique contexts.

Careers
The Suite will support educators to expand their professional knowledge on the science of learning and how it can be applied into practice, and therefore will be beneficial for all educators seeking to improve their practice as well as for those interested in pursuing middle and senior leadership roles in educational contexts. With the inclusion of research design and the building of skills in critiquing research and applying findings into practice, the Suite may be beneficial for those educators interested in pursuing educational research roles or research higher degrees.
