Why study the Bachelors of Information Technology / Design?

This dual degree provides students with the opportunity to become the next generation of creative technologists, equipped with the skills and knowledge to thrive in today's rapidly evolving world.

Students should study the dual degree program in Design and Information Technology as it offers a unique blend of skills and knowledge from both disciplines. By combining design principles with technical expertise, students will be equipped to tackle complex human problems in a creative and innovative manner. This program encourages students to challenge conventional thinking, develop critical and problem-solving skills, and design purposeful solutions for real-world challenges. Graduates will possess a versatile skill set that is highly sought after in a wide range of industries, making them valuable assets in today's job market.

What you can study

Students can customise their own educational pathway, tailoring it to their unique aspirations. With the flexibility to choose a major from each degree to align with their career goals.

For the Design component students will learn core principles of design across 6 hands-on design studio-based projects. With six diverse majors to choose from, such as Anthropology, Buildings and Environment, Environment and Society, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Media and Digital Cultures, students can deep dive into an area of interest.

The Information Technology component is focused around the three pillars of people, code and data. Students will gain a solid foundation across these core IT streams with the opportunity to specialise in either User Experience Design, Software Design or Software Information Systems.

This multidisciplinary approach provides students with a comprehensive understanding of both design and technology, empowering them to bridge the gap between the two disciplines.

Program rules for the Bachelors of Information Technology / Design

To complete the Bachelors of Information Technology / Design

To graduate with a Bachelors of Information Technology / Design a student must have successfully completed all requirements of the program as certified by the Executive Dean. This includes courses to be taken to complete the program and any other specific conditions of the program including admission, enrolment and progression requirements.
