Why study the Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Honours)?
It is an exciting time to study Biomedical Science at UQ. In 2017, this program will be replaced with a new 3-year Bachelor of Biomedical Science.
Your studies will capitalise on the research-intensive environment at The University of Queensland to prepare you for careers in the rapidly evolving fields of human health and disease.
You will focus on the human body at the molecular, cellular and whole body levels and the disciplines of biochemistry and cell biology, physiology, developmental biology, microbiology, pharmacology and neuroscience. You will discover the latest in globally relevant biomedical research from leading scientists based at UQ's research institutes.
The program will also provide you with a solid grounding to pursue postgraduate study in medicine and other allied health-related courses.
You will learn the scientific process through activities ranging from experimental design and hands-on experiments to computer programming.
