Why study the Bachelors of Music/Arts?
This dual degree program is designed to provide students with a professional career in music and a depth of understanding in one or more fields of knowledge in the humanities and social sciences. Students can structure their program within each degree component to include majors in their area of interest and a range of electives. Refer to the Bachelor of Music and the Bachelor of Arts for individual program details and requirements for majors.
Honours:
Students who intend to undertake the Bachelor of Music as an Honours program must apply to transfer into the Bachelor of Music (Honours) program after completion of 2 years full time study in the Bachelor of Music pass program. Further information is available here.

What you can do with a Bachelors of Music/Arts
Careers
Graduates of the BA find employment in a wide range of fields, with future directions dependent on the chosen area of study. Specialised areas of study can lead to careers in Psychology or Journalism, while study in History, Political Science, and Criminology, can provide the basis for careers in government, business, media, and humanitarian fields. Music graduates may gain employment in areas such as performance, accompanying, composing, arranging, lecturing, music editing, arts or education administration, librarianship, research, music programming, media work (journalist, critic, author), music education (instrumental school or studio).
Program rules for the Bachelors of Music/Arts
To complete the Bachelors of Music/Arts
To fulfil the requirements of the Bachelors of Music/Arts, a student must complete the requisite number of courses chosen from the course list in accordance with the Program Rules.
To complete the program, a student must complete 88 units comprising -
- 56 units from the BMus course list, including a BMus extended major; 2 BMus majors; or a BMus major and a BMus minor; and
- 32 units from BA course list including 2 BA majors; a BA extended major; or a BA major and 2 BA minors.
