Why study the Bachelor of Advanced Business (Honours)?

BAdvBus(Hons) is a 4 year degree aimed at high achieving students seeking an advanced option to study business. The professional pathway allows you to take up to two majors from the following specialist teaching areas: accounting, business analytics, business info. systems, finance, HR, innovation and entrepreneurship, int'l business, and marketing; while the research pathway offers a thesis for students who may wish to enter a PhD.
Honours is awarded to all graduates of this program, which means you will have a globally recognised degree that will stand out in a competitive job market.
Note: for students who commenced in 2021 or later, the following courses contribute to the research training required by PPL 3.50.12: ACCT4101, BSAN4204, BISM4203, FINM4401, IBUS4301, MGTS4603, MKTG4501, RBUS3900, RBUS6996 and TIMS4303. These courses must be undertaken at UQ.

RBUS4999 is a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) course that provides you with the opportunity to apply theoretical and conceptual knowledge to the workplace via a professional placement. The course is particularly focused on enabling you to develop employability skills, gain workplace knowledge, understand the attitudes of working professionals, grow a professional network, and engage with real world business issues.

To complete the Bachelor of Advanced Business (Honours)
To graduate with a Bachelor of Advanced Business (Honours) a student must have successfully completed all requirements of the program as certified by the Executive Dean. This includes courses to be taken to complete the program and any other specific conditions of the program including admission, enrolment and progression requirements.
