Program rules for the Bachelors of Business Management/Economics

To complete the Bachelors of Business Management/Economics

To fulfil the requirements of the Bachelors of Business Management/Economics, a student must complete the requisite number of courses chosen from the course list in accordance with the Program Rules.

A student is required to obtain 72 units, comprising -

  • 32 units from the BBusMan course list, comprising -
    (i) 20 units of compulsory courses from Group 1 (not including ECON1010 & ECON1020); and
    (ii) 12 units for either -
    • one major (except Business Economics) in Group 2 (6 units must be at level 3); or
    • elective courses from Group 3 (6 units must be at level 3, and only 2 units may be at level 1) (not including courses also listed in Group 1 of the BEcon course list); and
  • 36 units from the BEcon course list, comprising -
    (i) 20 units of compulsory courses from Group 1 (not including ACCT1101); and
    (ii) 16 units (8 units must be at level 3) for either -
    • one major in Group 2 (6 units must be at level 3) and 4 units from Group 3; or
    • elective courses from Group 3 with no more than 4 units of non-ECON coded courses; and
  • 4 units of general elective courses from almost any undergraduate program as approved by the Executive Dean.

Excluding Group 1 courses, no more than 6 units may be from level 1 courses.
