What you can do with a Bachelors of Arts/Social Science
Careers
Graduates of the BA find employment in a wide range of fields, with future directions dependent on the chosen area of study. Some specialised areas of study lead in specific directions, such as Psychology, Journalism or Archaeology. Other areas of study such as History, Communications, Political Science, Economics, and Geographical Sciences, provide the basis for careers in government, business, media, and humanitarian fields. Social Science graduates are in demand in contemporary labour markets, in areas including public policy, human services, international development and communication services. Graduates are prepared for a range of careers in: · media and information · health care planning, delivery and promotion · public policy planning and implementation
Program rules for the Bachelors of Arts/Social Science
To complete the Bachelors of Arts/Social Science
To fulfil the requirements of the Bachelors of Arts/Social Science, a student must complete the requisite number of courses chosen from the course list in accordance with the Program Rules.
A student is required to obtain #64 comprising -
- (i) two majors from Part A; or
- (ii) one extended major from Part A; and
- (iii) electives from Part A or B.
- #32 from the BSocSc List including
- #18 compulsory core courses from the BSocSc list;
- #12 of courses from one of the majors and
- #2 of electives.
