Why study the Bachelor of Social Work?

This program has been superseded by the Bachelor of Social Work (Honours).

Social Workers build relationships with individuals, groups and communities. Their mission to help is found in the space between an individual and the broader community. Their mission is to help and empower people to overcome particular problems, and to champion the rights of disadvantaged groups to create a fairer, more inclusive society.

UQ's Bachelor of Social Work combine score knowledge and skills in social work, social policy and research. During your program you'll learn about social work and the law, human development, professional ethics, and the principles and ideas that guide social workers.

Social workers provide support and guidance to vulnerable people, and believe in the fundamental values of human dignity and worth - because people deserve better lives.

What you can study
